This Privacy Policy explains how NGSpeak handles information when users install, open, and use the app.

NGSpeak is developed and published by NGRecipe. We respect user privacy and aim to collect or process only the information reasonably necessary to operate, protect, support, and improve the app.

This Privacy Policy applies to the NGSpeak Android application and related support communications.

NGSpeak is an independent educational application. It is not an official government language programme, examination authority, university, immigration service, or certification body.

The app does not guarantee fluency, employment, immigration success, academic admission, examination results, or any particular learning outcome. Results depend on the learner’s starting level, consistency, practice, motivation, device capabilities, and many other factors.

3. No Account Requirement

The current version of NGSpeak does not require users to create an account.

We do not require users to provide:

  • A name
  • Date of birth
  • Home address
  • Telephone number
  • Government identification
  • Passport information
  • Bank details
  • Payment-card information
  • Social-media credentials
  • An account password

Most learning information is stored locally on the user’s device.

If a future version introduces user accounts, cloud synchronisation, subscriptions, online profiles, server-based artificial intelligence, or other online features, this Privacy Policy will be updated before or when those features are released.

4. Information Stored Locally on the Device

NGSpeak may store the following information locally on the user’s device:

  • Selected interface language
  • Selected target language
  • Course selection
  • Placement or level selection
  • Learning goals
  • Daily-learning preferences
  • Completed lessons
  • Lesson scores
  • XP and achievement information
  • Learning streaks
  • Lesson-tree progress
  • Practice history
  • App settings and preferences
  • Advertising-consent status
  • Review-prompt history
  • Interstitial-ad frequency and timing information
  • Information required to restore the learner’s previous position

This information is used to:

  • Restore learning progress
  • Display completed and upcoming lessons
  • Personalise the learner’s in-app experience
  • Show achievements and milestones
  • Prevent unnecessary repetition
  • Apply reasonable review and advertising limits
  • Maintain app preferences

This local learning information is not intentionally uploaded to a server controlled by NGRecipe.

Local information may remain on the device until the user clears it, clears the application’s storage, resets the device, or uninstalls NGSpeak.

5. Microphone Permission and Speaking Practice

NGSpeak may request access to the device microphone when a learner voluntarily chooses a speaking, pronunciation, or speech-recognition activity.

Microphone access may be used to:

  • Capture the learner’s spoken response
  • Convert speech into recognised text
  • Compare recognised words with the lesson phrase
  • Provide speaking or pronunciation feedback
  • Help the learner practise communication skills

NGSpeak does not intentionally activate the microphone secretly or continuously.

The app requests microphone permission only in connection with a speaking-related feature. Users may deny the permission or revoke it later through Android settings.

NGRecipe does not intentionally record, store, or upload microphone audio to an NGRecipe-controlled server.

Speech recognition is provided by the speech-recognition service installed or available on the user’s device. Depending on the device, operating system, installed provider, language, settings, and internet connection, audio or recognised text may be processed locally or sent to a service provider such as Google or the device manufacturer.

The speech-service provider processes information under its own privacy policy, terms, and user settings.

Users who do not wish to use the microphone may continue using compatible typing, reading, listening, matching, and other lesson activities.

6. Text-to-Speech and Listening Features

NGSpeak uses the text-to-speech service available on the user’s device to read words, phrases, sentences, and dialogues aloud.

Lesson text may be processed by:

  • The Android text-to-speech system
  • Google text-to-speech services
  • A device-manufacturer voice service
  • Another text-to-speech provider selected or installed by the user

Processing may occur locally on the device or through the provider’s online systems, depending on the voice, language, device, network availability, and provider configuration.

NGRecipe does not use text-to-speech features to collect private conversations.

7. Advertising and Google AdMob

NGSpeak is provided free of charge and may display advertisements through Google AdMob and the Google Mobile Ads SDK.

Depending on the user’s location, device, privacy choices, consent status, and applicable laws, Google and its advertising partners may automatically collect or process information such as:

  • Internet Protocol address
  • Approximate location derived from the Internet Protocol address
  • Advertising identifiers
  • App-set identifiers
  • Device or account-related identifiers where applicable
  • Device model
  • Operating-system information
  • App version and package information
  • App launches and interactions
  • Ad impressions
  • Ad clicks or other ad interactions
  • Advertising performance information
  • Diagnostic and performance information
  • Fraud-prevention and security signals

This information may be used to:

  • Display advertisements
  • Select contextual or personalised advertisements where legally permitted
  • Measure advertising performance
  • Limit repeated advertisements
  • Produce advertising reports
  • Detect invalid traffic, fraud, and abuse
  • Maintain advertising security and reliability
  • Comply with legal and regulatory requirements

NGRecipe does not directly control all information collected or retained by Google or its advertising partners.

Advertising-related information is processed according to Google’s policies, consent systems, account settings, device settings, and applicable law.

8. Advertising Consent and Privacy Choices

NGSpeak uses Google’s User Messaging Platform to request or manage advertising consent where required.

Depending on the user’s region, the app may:

  • Request advertising consent
  • Display a privacy message
  • Ask the user to review advertising choices
  • Provide access to advertising privacy options
  • Request non-personalised or limited ads
  • Delay advertising until the required consent status is available

Where required, users may open the app’s Manage advertising privacy option to review eligible choices.

Users may also manage advertising settings through their Google account, Android settings, or device privacy controls.

A user’s choices may affect the availability, personalisation, or type of advertisements displayed.

NGRecipe does not sell personal information for money.

However, some advertising-related processing may legally be classified as “sharing,” “targeted advertising,” or “cross-context behavioural advertising” under certain privacy laws.

9. Advertising Placement and Frequency

NGSpeak is designed to place advertisements away from active learning interactions where reasonably possible.

Banner advertisements may appear on selected navigation, home, practice, or course-discovery screens.

Interstitial advertisements may appear only at natural breaks, such as after a reasonable number of completed lessons and when the learner chooses to return to the lesson tree.

NGSpeak is designed not to intentionally display interstitial advertisements:

  • In the middle of an active exercise
  • Immediately after a wrong answer
  • Before the learner can see a completion result
  • During microphone recording
  • During an active speaking activity
  • As a condition for receiving earned lesson progress
  • As a reward for leaving a positive review

Advertising frequency may be controlled using information stored locally on the device.

10. App Activity and Diagnostic Information

Third-party services integrated into NGSpeak may process limited technical and diagnostic information.

This may include:

  • Device information
  • Operating-system information
  • App version
  • Network information
  • App interactions
  • Advertising events
  • Crash or error information
  • Performance information
  • SDK diagnostics
  • Security information
  • Fraud-prevention signals

This information may be used to operate services, diagnose technical problems, measure reliability, prevent abuse, and improve performance.

NGRecipe does not intentionally use NGSpeak to collect precise GPS location.

11. Voluntary Progress Sharing

NGSpeak allows learners to voluntarily share lesson achievements, scores, XP, streaks, milestones, course progress, or invitation messages.

Sharing occurs only after the learner selects a sharing option.

The device may display compatible applications through the Android sharing interface. The learner decides:

  • Whether to share
  • Which application receives the content
  • Who receives the content
  • Whether to edit the content before sending it
  • Whether to cancel the sharing action

Once information is shared with another application, its processing is controlled by the selected service and its privacy policy.

NGRecipe does not control third-party messaging, email, social-media, storage, or sharing applications.

Users should avoid adding private, confidential, or sensitive information to shared content.

12. Google Play Reviews

NGSpeak may provide voluntary opportunities to rate or review the app on Google Play.

The app may display a review prompt only after positive learning milestones or meaningful app use, subject to local frequency limits and Google Play availability.

Users are free to:

  • Leave any honest rating
  • Write any honest review
  • Decline the prompt
  • Close the review interface
  • Review the app later
  • Not review the app at all

NGSpeak does not require a positive review, does not require a five-star rating, and does not provide XP, money, lessons, or other rewards in exchange for a particular review.

Google processes review and Google Play account information according to its own policies.

13. External Links and More Apps

NGSpeak may provide optional links to:

  • The NGRecipe website
  • The developer website
  • Privacy and legal pages
  • Google Play
  • Other published NGRecipe applications
  • The NGRecipe Google Play developer page
  • Support or contact options

External links open only after an intentional user action.

When users open an external website or application, the external provider may process information under its own privacy policy.

NGRecipe is not responsible for the privacy, security, availability, or content of third-party websites and applications.

Upcoming applications displayed inside NGSpeak may be labelled as planned or in development and may not yet be available for download.

  • Files stored on the device
  • Government identification
  • Passport information

17. Data Sharing and Third-Party Processing

NGRecipe does not sell personal information for money.

Information may be processed or shared in limited circumstances:

These services may act as processors, service providers, or independent data controllers, depending on their role and applicable law.

18. Legal Bases for Processing

Where applicable law requires a legal basis, information may be processed based on one or more of the following:

  • Consent, including eligible advertising choices and optional permissions
  • Performance of a requested service, such as providing a lesson, speech activity, sharing action, or support response
  • Legitimate interests, such as maintaining security, improving reliability, preventing fraud, and providing support
  • Compliance with legal obligations
  • Protection of users, NGRecipe, and third parties

Users may withdraw optional permission or consent where an appropriate control is available.

Withdrawal does not affect processing that lawfully occurred before the withdrawal.

Some features may stop functioning when required permissions are denied. For example, speech recognition may not work without microphone access.

19. Data Retention

Local learning progress and preferences may remain on the device until the user:

  • Clears learning data inside NGSpeak
  • Clears NGSpeak’s storage through Android settings
  • Resets the device
  • Uninstalls the app

NGRecipe does not intentionally retain microphone audio on an NGRecipe-controlled server.

24. Children and Teen Users

NGSpeak is intended for users aged 13 years and older.

The app is not directed primarily to children under 13, and NGRecipe does not knowingly request personal information directly from children under 13.

If a user is below the age of digital consent in their country or region, the user should use NGSpeak only with the permission and guidance of a parent, guardian, teacher, or responsible adult.

Parents and guardians should supervise minors’:

  • Microphone permission
  • Advertising choices
  • Sharing actions

25. International Data Processing

NGSpeak may be used in many countries.

Third-party services such as Google AdMob, Google Play, speech providers, text-to-speech providers, website providers, and email providers may process information in countries other than the user’s country of residence.

Privacy and data-protection laws may differ between countries.

Where required, relevant providers are responsible for applying appropriate legal mechanisms and safeguards to their processing.

26. Security

NGRecipe uses reasonable administrative, organisational, and technical measures intended to protect information.

These measures include:

  • Limiting direct collection of personal information
  • Keeping learning progress primarily on the user’s device

28. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Controls

Some devices, browsers, or services may transmit “Do Not Track,” Global Privacy Control, or similar preference signals.
