Privacy Policy – IELTS Dictionary

Effective date: July 12, 2026
Last updated: July 12, 2026

NGRecipe respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is stored, accessed, collected, used, disclosed, retained, and protected when you use the IELTS Dictionary mobile application.

1. Developer and data-controller information

Application: IELTS Dictionary
Android package: com.ngrecipe.ieltsdictionary
Developer and data controller: NGRecipe
Lead Developer: Md Chhafrul Alam Khan
Country of operation: Bangladesh
Privacy and support email: support@ngrecipe.com
Company website: NGRecipe.com
Developer website: MdChhafrulAlamKhan.com

For privacy correspondence, include “IELTS Dictionary Privacy Request” in the email subject.

IELTS Dictionary is an independent educational vocabulary-learning application. It does not require an NGRecipe account, login, or online learner profile.

2. Scope of this policy

This Privacy Policy applies to:

  • the IELTS Dictionary Android application;
  • privacy-related support communications sent directly to NGRecipe;
  • services and features controlled by NGRecipe within the app.

It does not control third-party websites, apps, advertising services, text-to-speech providers, social networks, email providers, messaging services, or other services that you independently choose to use.

3. Offline-first operation

IELTS Dictionary is designed as an offline-first application.

Its principal dictionary, vocabulary content, learning stages, guides, collections, saved words, personal notes, practice activities, preferences, and progress features are stored locally on the device or bundled with the application.

The core learning features do not require:

  • account registration;
  • cloud synchronisation;
  • an NGRecipe user database;
  • submission of your name, telephone number, or postal address.

Internet access may be used for advertisements, consent management, Google Play links, external websites, app-sharing functions, support pages, legal pages, and other user-requested online services.

4. Information stored locally on your device

Depending on the features you use, the app may store:

  • saved or bookmarked words;
  • search history and recently viewed words;
  • completed learning activities;
  • practice answers, scores, streaks, and results;
  • learning-stage progress;
  • words marked as learning or mastered;
  • personal word notes;
  • study-plan information;
  • app theme and display preferences;
  • accessibility preferences;
  • consent and advertising-privacy status;
  • temporary locally generated sharing images.

This information supports the app’s functionality and personalises your learning experience on the device.

NGRecipe does not ordinarily receive this locally stored learning information.

5. Personal word notes

Personal word notes are stored locally on your device. They are not intentionally uploaded to an NGRecipe server.

You can edit or delete notes from within the app. You can remove all locally stored information by clearing the app’s storage through Android settings or uninstalling the app.

Avoid entering passwords, payment information, government identifiers, health information, or other highly sensitive personal information in personal notes.

6. Information you provide directly

NGRecipe may receive information when you voluntarily contact the developer by email, website form, social media, or another communication service.

This may include:

  • your name or display name;
  • email address;
  • message contents;
  • screenshots, recordings, or attachments;
  • device and app-version information you voluntarily provide;
  • information required to investigate a technical or privacy request.

NGRecipe uses this information to answer questions, provide support, investigate problems, prevent abuse, meet legal obligations, and improve the application.

Do not send signing keys, passwords, payment-card data, government identification, or other unnecessary sensitive information.

7. Advertising and Google AdMob

IELTS Dictionary is free to use and is supported by advertisements.

The application uses Google AdMob and the Google Mobile Ads SDK to provide formats that may include:

  • banner advertisements;
  • native advertisements;
  • interstitial advertisements;
  • rewarded advertisements;
  • rewarded-interstitial advertisements.

According to Google’s disclosure for the Mobile Ads SDK, the SDK may automatically collect and share IP address, app and advertisement interactions, diagnostic information, and device or account-related identifiers for advertising, analytics, and fraud-prevention purposes. Google states that this SDK information is encrypted in transit.

Information processed by advertising services may include:

  • IP address and approximate or general location derived from it;
  • device and application identifiers;
  • Android advertising identifier, where available and permitted;
  • app-set identifier;
  • advertisement impressions, views, taps, and interactions;
  • application launch and performance information;
  • device type, operating-system information, and language;
  • diagnostic information;
  • fraud, abuse, and invalid-traffic signals;
  • consent and advertising-preference signals.

NGRecipe does not choose the exact advertisement delivered to an individual user and does not receive your Google Account password or payment-card information from AdMob.

8. Personalised and non-personalised advertising

Advertisements may be personalised, contextual, restricted, limited, or non-personalised depending on:

  • your country or region;
  • your age category where applicable;
  • your consent decision;
  • Android privacy and advertising settings;
  • Google account and advertising settings;
  • legal requirements;
  • Google’s policies and technical availability.

Personalised advertising may use information about interests, activity, identifiers, or previous interactions to select advertisements. Non-personalised or limited advertisements may still use contextual information, frequency capping, fraud prevention, approximate location, and technical information.

9. Consent and privacy controls

IELTS Dictionary uses Google’s User Messaging Platform where applicable to request and manage advertising and privacy choices.

Google’s current UMP implementation instructs apps to refresh consent information, display required consent forms, provide a privacy-options entry point when required, and verify that ads may be requested before requesting them.

Depending on your region, you may be given choices concerning:

  • personalised advertising;
  • advertising storage;
  • use of personal data for advertising;
  • sharing with advertising providers;
  • measurement and analytics;
  • targeted or cross-context behavioural advertising;
  • withdrawal or modification of earlier choices.

Where available, open Privacy & Ads inside the app to review or change available privacy choices. Google’s GDPR guidance requires eligible users to have a way to withdraw or modify consent.

You may also manage advertising preferences through Android settings and Google’s advertising controls.

10. Legal bases for processing

Where the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, Switzerland, or a similar legal framework applies, personal information may be processed under one or more of these legal bases:

Consent: for personalised advertising, local storage, or other processing requiring consent.

Legitimate interests: for app security, fraud prevention, basic support, service reliability, non-intrusive product improvement, and protecting legal rights, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.

Contractual necessity: where processing is necessary to provide a service you explicitly request, such as responding to a support request or initiating a share action.

Legal obligation: where processing is required by tax, regulatory, court, law-enforcement, consumer-protection, or other applicable law.

Protection of legal claims: where information must be preserved or processed to establish, exercise, or defend legal rights.

Consent may be withdrawn where consent is the applicable legal basis. Withdrawal does not make earlier lawful processing unlawful. GDPR and UK GDPR frameworks require organisations to identify and communicate the lawful basis used for processing.

11. Sharing features

The app includes voluntary sharing tools for items such as:

  • individual words and definitions;
  • Word of the Day;
  • saved-word milestones;
  • learning progress;
  • practice results;
  • study plans;
  • vocabulary packs and guides;
  • app invitations.

The app may generate a branded image locally on your device and open Android’s system share interface.

Nothing is sent through the sharing feature until you deliberately initiate sharing and select a receiving application or service.

The receiving service—for example, a social network, messaging app, cloud-storage provider, or email application—processes the shared content under its own terms and privacy policy.

Temporary sharing files may remain in app cache until removed by the app, Android, or the user.

12. Text-to-speech and pronunciation

The app may use an Android text-to-speech provider to pronounce words and educational content.

The selected text may be processed locally or transmitted to the provider, depending on the installed engine, language pack, settings, and provider.

NGRecipe does not control the privacy practices of independently installed text-to-speech engines. Review the privacy information of your selected provider where appropriate.

13. External links and Google Play

The app may open:

  • its Google Play listing;
  • honest-review and rating pages;
  • NGRecipe websites;
  • developer websites;
  • legal and support pages;
  • other applications published by NGRecipe.

When an external service opens, it may process technical information according to its own privacy policy. NGRecipe is not responsible for the privacy, security, availability, or content of independently controlled services.

14. Information not directly requested by the app

The current version does not require you to directly provide:

  • an account username or password;
  • precise GPS location;
  • contact-list information;
  • SMS contents;
  • telephone call logs;
  • photographs or camera access;
  • microphone recordings;
  • financial-account credentials;
  • payment-card details;
  • government identifiers;
  • biometric identifiers;
  • health records.

The app’s pronunciation feature produces audio output and is not intended to record speech.

Third-party advertising or platform services may process identifiers and technical data as described elsewhere in this policy.

15. How information is used

Information may be used to:

  • provide dictionary and learning functionality;
  • preserve local progress and preferences;
  • generate requested sharing content;
  • provide pronunciation;
  • show, measure, and manage advertisements;
  • honour privacy and consent choices;
  • prevent fraud, abuse, and invalid advertising activity;
  • maintain app stability and performance;
  • answer support and privacy requests;
  • diagnose problems;
  • protect users, NGRecipe, and third parties;
  • satisfy legal and regulatory obligations;
  • establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

NGRecipe will not use directly received personal information for materially incompatible purposes without providing additional notice or obtaining consent when required.

16. Third-party recipients

Information may be processed by or disclosed to:

  • Google AdMob and the Google Mobile Ads SDK;
  • Google User Messaging Platform;
  • Google Play and Android platform services;
  • advertising demand partners selected through AdMob;
  • your selected text-to-speech provider;
  • apps and services you select through the Android share interface;
  • hosting, email, security, or support providers used for direct communications;
  • courts, regulators, law-enforcement authorities, or professional advisers where legally required;
  • a successor organisation if NGRecipe undergoes a lawful merger, reorganisation, financing, or transfer of relevant assets.

Third parties are responsible for their own processing where they act as independent controllers.

17. Sale, sharing, and targeted advertising

NGRecipe does not directly sell your locally stored dictionary progress, personal notes, or support communications for money.

Some privacy laws use broad definitions of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising that may include making identifiers or activity information available to advertising providers for personalised or cross-context advertising.

Where applicable, you may exercise an opt-out through:

  • the app’s Privacy & Ads section;
  • a regional consent or privacy message;
  • Android advertising controls;
  • Google advertising controls;
  • an email request to support@ngrecipe.com.

The Google Mobile Ads Flutter SDK can recognise privacy signals used for US-state privacy choices where properly configured.

NGRecipe does not knowingly use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about users.

18. Data retention

Local learning information generally remains on your device until:

  • you delete an individual item;
  • you reset progress where that feature is available;
  • you clear the app’s storage;
  • Android removes temporary cache;
  • you uninstall the application.

Support emails and related correspondence may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to:

  • resolve the request;
  • maintain security and abuse-prevention records;
  • comply with applicable laws;
  • establish or defend legal claims.

Third-party services determine their own retention periods under their respective policies and legal obligations.

When information is no longer reasonably required, NGRecipe will delete, anonymise, or securely dispose of information under its control, subject to lawful retention requirements.

19. International data transfers

NGRecipe operates from Bangladesh. Advertising, platform, communications, and other third-party providers may process information in Bangladesh, the United States, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Singapore, or other countries.

Data-protection laws in another country may differ from those in your location.

Where required, the relevant organisation should rely on an approved transfer mechanism, contractual protection, adequacy decision, consent, or other lawful safeguard.

20. Data security

NGRecipe uses reasonable administrative, organisational, and technical measures appropriate to the nature of the application.

These measures may include:

  • limiting first-party collection;
  • keeping core learning data on the device;
  • restricting unnecessary permissions;
  • using maintained dependencies;
  • separating advertisements from essential learning controls;
  • avoiding mandatory user accounts;
  • using secure platform services where available;
  • limiting access to support communications.

No application, device, database, network, or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.

You are responsible for protecting your device, lock screen, Android account, backups, and any application through which you share content.

21. Children and young users

IELTS Dictionary is intended for users preparing for an English-language proficiency examination. It is not directed primarily to children under 13.

NGRecipe does not knowingly request online account information from children under 13.

Under the United States COPPA framework, child-directed mobile apps—and general-audience apps with actual knowledge that they collect personal information from a child under 13—may have additional notice and parental-consent duties, including for data collected by advertising SDKs.

Users below the applicable digital-consent age in their country should use the app only with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian where required.

A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided personal information directly to NGRecipe may contact support@ngrecipe.com.

22. Regional privacy rights

Depending on your location and subject to legal exceptions, you may have rights to:

  • know whether personal information is processed;
  • receive privacy information;
  • access personal information;
  • correct inaccurate information;
  • request deletion;
  • restrict processing;
  • object to certain processing;
  • withdraw consent;
  • request data portability;
  • opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising;
  • limit certain uses of sensitive information;
  • complain to a privacy or data-protection authority;
  • avoid unlawful discrimination for exercising privacy rights;
  • request human review where a legally significant decision is made solely by automated processing.

EU data-protection guidance recognises rights including information, access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection, portability, and protections concerning solely automated decision-making.

The app does not use locally stored vocabulary progress to make decisions that create legal or similarly significant effects about you.

23. California and other United States residents

Where the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended, or another applicable US state privacy law applies, residents may have rights to:

  • know the categories and specific pieces of personal information processed;
  • know the sources, purposes, and categories of recipients;
  • request deletion or correction;
  • opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising;
  • limit certain sensitive-information uses;
  • receive equal service after exercising a right;
  • appeal a denied request where state law provides that right.

California privacy law requires covered businesses to disclose categories of information collected and the purposes for collection, and provides consumers with privacy rights where the statutory requirements apply.

NGRecipe may need to verify a request before responding. Verification information will be used only for handling the request.

An authorised agent may submit a request where permitted by law, subject to appropriate proof of authority and identity verification.

24. EEA, UK, and Switzerland residents

Where applicable, you may:

  • request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or portability;
  • object to processing based on legitimate interests;
  • withdraw consent;
  • lodge a complaint with your national data-protection authority.

Requests can be sent to support@ngrecipe.com.

You also have the right to contact your local supervisory authority. Privacy notices under the UK GDPR must explain required information clearly and in an accessible form.

25. Residents of other jurisdictions

Residents of Brazil, Canada, Australia, India, New Zealand, South Africa, Japan, South Korea, and other jurisdictions may have additional privacy rights under local law.

NGRecipe will evaluate valid requests under the law applicable to the requester and the processing concerned.

Where local law provides stronger mandatory protections than this policy, those mandatory protections apply.

26. Exercising your rights

Send requests to:

Email: support@ngrecipe.com
Subject: IELTS Dictionary Privacy Request

Include:

  • the right you want to exercise;
  • your country or region;
  • enough information to identify relevant direct correspondence;
  • any relevant date or support-request reference.

Do not send passwords, signing keys, complete identity documents, or unrelated sensitive information.

Because the app has no NGRecipe account system and local learning data normally remains only on your device, NGRecipe may not possess the information you request. In that case, you may be directed to delete the information through the app or Android settings.

NGRecipe will respond within the period required by applicable law. A request may be declined or limited where an exemption applies, identity cannot reasonably be verified, the request is manifestly unfounded or excessive, or compliance would violate another legal obligation. Where required, NGRecipe will explain the decision and available appeal or complaint process.

27. Complaints

Privacy concerns should first be sent to support@ngrecipe.com.

You may also have the right to complain to the privacy, consumer-protection, or data-protection authority in your country.

28. Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated when:

  • app functionality changes;
  • advertising or consent practices change;
  • third-party SDKs change;
  • legal requirements change;
  • security or operational practices change.

The revised policy will show a new Last updated date.

Where required, material changes will be communicated through the app, Google Play, the NGRecipe website, or another appropriate notice.

Continued use does not replace consent where fresh consent is legally required.
